LOKAL SKOOL DISTRIKS - worth knowing about!?

If you are looking to buy a home, it is very important to get a feel for the school districts that your home falls within – EVEN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN!

Here’s my thinking: obviously, if you have children, the schools they attend can have a life-altering impact on their lives, socially, intellectually, emotionally, morally…etc… Remember junior high school, puberty, bullies, increased home work loads, peer pressure?  As real estate and home buying goes, there is no need to sell you on the virtues of a good school district making a positive difference in your child’s life, in your life.  But how can you really know how good a school district is if you are buying a home where you are new to the area?

School District Question - check with Equity Real EstateBefore I answer that question, when you are looking at real estate, even if you don’t have children living with you at home, the school districts are still important.  Schools invariably reflect the sociological progress of a community.  Neighborhoods with good schools consistently have lower crime rates and higher qualities of life.  So, if you’re taking that vacation to Mexico, the better the school district the better the odds that you have of finding someone to watch Fido while you’re gone, and of returning to your home safe from vandalism.  Am I totally off base here?

Real estate offices should have information about the local school districts that pertain to any house you may be considering to buy.  An experienced realtor will know the neighborhoods and know the schools and be able to offer candid and insightful information useful to your decision making process.  In Utah, I have been very impressed with the real estate website www.easyutahhomesearch.com

When I find a home that I like on www.easyutahhomesearch.com, each home for sale featured shows the school nearest the home for Elementary, Middle and High School.  Even better, you can then CLICK on the respective school name and be directed to a new webpage where detailed information is given on the school, including independent ratings from the community for each school.

www.easyutahhomesearch.com is part of the Equity Real Estate office in the glorious state of Utah.  If you are in the market to BUY or SELL a home, I recommend that you call Eric Lee at Equity Real Estate.   Eric has the experience and the know-how to help with your real estate needs, immediate or long term.  He can be reached at (801) 651-3071 or check out his website at www.easyutahhomesearch.com.  Blog by Mark J Whitlock.
